Emergency Plumber — UK-Wide, Vetted & Priced Up Front

Vetted & insured engineers Clear pricing before work starts G3-qualified for unvented cylinders No gas work — plumbing only

A burst pipe or an uncontrollable leak doesn't wait for office hours, and neither do we. Our vetted emergency plumbers cover your area around the clock, from your neighbourhood to the surrounding area, with genuine 24/7 phone answering.

What counts as a plumbing emergency

Escaping water you cannot stop, a burst or split pipe, a leak affecting electrics, no water to the whole property, an overflowing toilet in a single-bathroom home, or a failed hot water cylinder discharging through the tundish — all of these justify an emergency visit in your area. If water is contained and the supply is isolated, a next-day standard appointment is usually cheaper and we'll say so on the phone.

Not every drip is an emergency, and we won't pretend otherwise to charge an emergency rate. In your area we class it as urgent when water is escaping faster than you can contain it, when a leak is near electrics or coming through a light fitting, when the whole property has lost its water supply, or when your only toilet is out of action. Anything safely isolated can wait for a standard slot at a standard price.

What happens when you call

The line is answered 24/7. We take your postcode, the fault in one line, and a callback number, then dispatch the nearest available your area engineer. While they travel, we'll walk you through making safe — usually the main stopcock, or the gate valve on a cold-water tank feed. You'll get the attending engineer's name and an arrival window before the call ends.

You call, we answer — no menus, no callbacks from a call centre three hours later. We confirm your your area postcode and the nature of the fault, get the nearest engineer moving, and stay on the line if you need help isolating the water. Most faults are made safe on arrival and permanently repaired in the same visit; where a part is needed, we make safe first and return with it.

Typical emergency call-outs in your area

The pattern in your area is consistent: burst flexible tap connectors under sinks, failed compression joints on older copper, split pipes after cold snaps, jammed ballcocks flooding cold-water tanks, and pushfit fittings letting go in newer builds. Your local water hardness affects how quickly scale builds in taps, cylinders and showers. Housing stock varies street to street, and with it the pipework our engineers find.

Across your neighbourhood, the surrounding area and nearby districts the same faults come up again and again: perished flexi hoses, weeping cylinder connections, frozen and split supply pipes each winter, and overflows running at full bore. Your local water hardness affects how quickly scale builds in taps, cylinders and showers. Local knowledge matters — our engineers know what the housing stock around your area throws at them. Housing stock varies street to street, and with it the pipework our engineers find.

Emergency pricing, straight

Emergency work in your area is charged as a call-out plus first hour from £95, with parts on top at cost plus a stated handling margin. You're told the rate before an engineer is dispatched, and the engineer confirms any parts cost before fitting. No completion-pressure, no invented 'out of hours supplements' stacked on arrival.

You'll be quoted the your area emergency rate on the phone — typically from £95 covering attendance and the first hour — before anyone is dispatched. Parts are itemised. If the honest answer is that your fault can safely wait until morning at a lower rate, that's what you'll be told.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can an emergency plumber reach me in your area?

It depends on the time of day and which engineers are on shift, but because we work with plumbers based in and around your area rather than dispatching from a regional depot, attendance is typically within hours, not days. You'll be given an honest arrival window when you call.

Do you charge extra at night or on weekends in your area?

Emergency rates apply out of hours and are quoted before dispatch. There are no additional surprise supplements added on arrival — the rate you're given on the phone is the rate on the invoice, plus any parts you approve.

Should I turn my water off before you arrive?

If water is escaping, yes — isolate the main stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink or where the supply enters the property. If you can't find or turn it, say so on the call and we'll talk you through the options, including the outside stop valve.

Can you fix a burst pipe permanently on the first visit?

Usually. Engineers carry common pipe sizes, fittings and isolation valves. Where a specific part is needed — for example a cylinder component — the leak is made safe on the first visit and the repair completed as soon as the part is in hand.

Is a leaking hot water cylinder an emergency?

Constant discharge from an unvented cylinder's relief pipework, or water escaping from the cylinder body, should be treated urgently — isolate the cold feed and switch off the immersion/heating first. Unvented repairs legally require a G3-qualified engineer, which we route for automatically.

Do you handle boiler breakdowns in your area?

No — boilers, central heating and anything gas requires a Gas Safe registered engineer and sits with our heating partner site. We handle the wet plumbing side: pipes, leaks, cylinders, toilets, taps and water supply.

My ceiling is bulging with water — what do I do?

Turn off the water and the electrics to that area, put a bucket down, and pierce the bulge at its lowest point with a screwdriver to release the water in a controlled way — a controlled drain does far less damage than a collapse. Then call us.

Will my home insurance cover an emergency plumber in your area?

Many policies cover trace-and-access and damage from escaping water, though not always the failed part itself. We provide itemised invoices and photos on request, which insurers typically ask for. Check your policy for emergency home cover.

Do you cover all of your area?

Yes — the whole of your area and its surrounding area, including your neighbourhood, the surrounding area and nearby districts. If you're just outside the area, call anyway; we'll route you to the nearest engineer in the network.
